These 5 Chiefs were injured during Kansas City's preseason loss to the Seattle Seahawks
The Kansas City Chiefs were unable to escape their preseason loss to the Seattle Seahawks with a clean injury report. According to Chiefs head coach Andy Reid, five Chiefs players sustained injuries in the game, including former first-round pick Felix Anudike-Uzomah and rookie defensive back Nohl Williams. Among the others mentioned by Reid were veterans Mike Edwards, Jack Cochrane, and Nazeeh Johnson, all of whom were members of the Kansas City's Super Bowl LVIII roster. While the exact nature of the players' injuries is unknown, Chiefs Senior Team Reporter Matt McMullen shared a brief update on their status in a post to Twitter after Friday's game: Injuries are to be expected in the preseason, but with just weeks remaining before Kansas City's Week 1 kickoff against the Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil, the Chiefs can't afford to be without any of their top players. Stay tuned for more information about Kansas City's injuries as more information becomes available postgame. Chiefs players 'teased' Travis Kelce in locker room for 2016 dating show, Derrick Johnson says
There was a time when Travis Kelce's dating life was the subject of entertainment media, even without Taylor Swift. In 2016, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end had his own dating show, "Catching Kelce," on which he tried out dating 50 women, one from each state, in an attempt to find a girlfriend. The show lasted one season. Kelce's former teammate, Chiefs all-time tackle leader Derrick Johnson, told Fox News Digital how the locker room reacted to Kelce's dating show. "He tried not to [talk about the show in the locker room] but we kind of teased him at times, because when you're playing for Andy Reid, there's no distractions. You got to do your job and do it at a high level. So we were aware of the show in the locker room. We'd throw different stuff out there. But when it came to football, it was all business," Johnson said. Kelce turned 27 in October 2016 when the show aired, overlapping with that year's NFL season. The tight end was in the midst of his first 1,000-yard receiving season and second-of-10-straight Pro Bowl seasons. And while the teasing for the show came in the locker room, Johnson says the team's veterans also respected the younger Kelce's abilities when it came to dating. "He had that taken care of. Good or bad, that's the area that he needs no help in," Johnson said. The show's first and only season ended with Kelce choosing a contestant from Kentucky, Maya Benberry, as his girlfriend. However, by 2017, Kelce was reported to have begun dating his next girlfriend, model Kayla Nicole. Kelce and Nicole reportedly dated for five years up until May 2022. Once Kelce began his relationship with Swift in 2023, Johnson took notice. "He outkicked his coverage. Taylor's big time," Johnson said. "Kelce's big time as well, football-wise, but she is globally. So they're definitely a power couple." Johnson left the Chiefs for the rival Raiders for his final season in 2018, but his lasting influence preceded the team's historic dynasty and three Super Bowl wins, with five total trips to the big game, from 2019 to February 2024. Johnson was famously a team leader on defense in the early years of Kelce's career. "None of us knew who he could really be. He probably didn't know it at all either. And once he got going after his second year, third year, I was like, 'This guy is the man!'" Johnson said.

Chiefs DE Janarius Robinson out with fractured foot
August 11 - Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Janarius Robinson sustained a fractured foot in Saturday's preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Head coach Andy Reid confirmed the injury on Monday but did not provide a timeline for Robinson's return. Likely in a related move, the Chiefs signed defensive end Nate Matlack ahead of Monday morning's practice. Robinson, 26, sacked Cardinals quarterback Clayton Tune for a 9-yard loss in Saturday's 20-17 defeat in Glendale, Ariz. A fourth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2021, Robinson signed with the Chiefs in April. He played in 16 games (three starts) for the Las Vegas Raiders from 2023-24, recording 1.5 sacks and 13 tackles. The Chiefs also lost safety Deon Bush to a torn Achilles on Saturday. Kansas City is also dealing with injuries to wide receiver Marquise "Hollywood" Brown (ankle), cornerback Jaylen Watson (concussion protocol), offensive lineman Ethan Driskell (appendectomy) and tight end Jake Briningstool (hamstring). --Field Level Media

Andy Reid fuels Travis Kelce-Taylor Swift wedding speculation after star's loved-up offseason with the singer
Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid can hear wedding bells. The 67-year-old has made no secret of the fact that he is a fan of his tight end Travis Kelce 's love story with pop sensation Taylor Swift. And the veteran coach opened up on the A-List relationship once again this week, even hinting at what a potential wedding between the famous couple could look like. As Reid, who topped DailyMail+'s NFL head coach Power List this week, once again brushed off claims that the high-profile romance was a distraction to the team, he was asked what story he would tell at the couple's hypothetical nuptials. 'Well there are a few I can't tell,' Reid told Kansas City sports radio's 96.5 The Fan with Fescoe and Dusty. 'No, there are a lot of great stories,' continued Reid. 'He's done so many good things, all the things he's done off the field that people don't know about, just helping people out. He's got a big heart that way.' Coach Reid talks about his favorite Taylor album, her impact on the game and what Travis story he'd tell at their wedding. — 🏈👑 | fan acct. (@TayvisHaze) August 7, 2025 The coach, who revealed his favorite album of Swift's was fittingly 'Red,' also praised the two superstars for their handling of life in the spotlight over the past couple of years. 'The thing I appreciate most is how she handles it, how Trav handles it,' Reid gushed. 'They just do it the right way. And they're not a distraction by any means. People always ask are they a distraction? Absolutely not. There's no distraction because of how they handle it.' It comes as Kelce, 35, went 'Instagram official' with Swift, also 35, with an array of pictures of the high-profile couple that hadn't been seen before last month. They included pictures of Kelce spending time with Swift's brother, Austin, while Swifties also spotted that Kelce's phone background is a picture of him and the singer. Kelce nearly retired after the Chiefs were destroyed by the Philadelphia Eagles in February's Super Bowl in New Orleans. But after deciding to play on, the three-time Super Bowl winner regrouped and spend summer getting into the best shape of his life, working with a personal trainer in Boca Raton, Florida. And after reporting back to Chiefs camp at St. Joe's for the upcoming 2025 season last month, coach Reid couldn't have been happier with the condition of his star tight end. 'He's svelte right now,' Reid beamed. 'He looks like he's 20. He's doing a good job. He's in great shape. 'I'm not sure he didn't come in first during the whole conditioning thing, he was right up front. You can see he's been working out. 'You saw him yesterday on the long run where he had the burst. He's done a nice job. He's worked hard to get to this spot.' Speaking in June, Kelce dismissed rumors that he had shedded 25 pounds but admitted he had been training hard in the offseason. He said: 'Each year is different man, you gotta rebuild it. This year, I got some time to really focus on some things in the offseason that I just didn't have time for last year. I'm certainly feeling good and I think it will pay off, man.'

Chiefs not limiting Rashee Rice's training camp participation despite jail sentence, potential NFL suspension
Kansas City Chiefs players are reporting to training camp Monday, including third-year wide receiver Rashee Rice, despite his jail sentence and a possible NFL suspension looming. Last week, Rice, 25, was sentenced to five years probation and 30 days of jail time by a Dallas County judge, per the Dallas County District Attorney's Office. Rice pled guilty to two third-degree felony charges related to his role in a multi-car crash that injured multiple people on a Dallas highway last year. "We're going to progress as normal with him," Chiefs head coach Andy Reid told reporters Sunday. "He'll go in and take all the reps that he'd normally take. We always rotate that position. So depending on what happens here in the future, whoever needs to play will be able step in, and they'll know what they are doing and be in good shape to do it." While a suspension is widely expected, Reid said Sunday he didn't know when the NFL would decide on a potential punishment for Rice. Because the plea deal Rice took includes deferred probation, his case will be dismissed if he successfully completes probation. His 30 days of jail time can be served at any point of his five years on probation, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported last week. Rice was ruled to pay medical expenses totaling $115,481.91 for all the victims involved in the chain-reaction car crash he and then-SMU cornerback Teddy Knox caused by speeding during rush hour traffic on March 30, 2024. Rice was going 119 mph in a Lamborghini Urus SUV prior to first impact and made "multiple aggressive maneuvers around traffic", per the DA's office. He didn't check on the people in the cars affected by the collision and then fled on foot. Rice's lawyer, Royce West, released a statement on Rice's behalf last week in the media release from the DA's office. "Last March, I was involved in a high-speed accident in Dallas. There have been a lot of sleepless nights thinking about the damages that my actions caused, and I will continue working within my means to make sure that everyone impacted will be made whole. I urge everyone to mind the speed limit, drive safe and drive smart," Rice said in the statement. "Last and certainly not least, I am profoundly sorry for the physical damages to person and property. I fully apologize for the harm I caused to innocent drivers and their families." After catching 24 passes for 288 yards and 2 touchdowns in four games to start the 2024 season, Rice went on injured reserve in early October. Then he had season-ending LCL surgery. The former second-round pick's sophomore season was cut short, following an impressive rookie campaign that saw the SMU product reel in 79 passes for 938 yards and 7 touchdowns. Reid said Sunday that he and his staff will keep an eye on Rice's knee in training camp. Rice participated in Chiefs' voluntary OTAs and mandatory minicamp.
